EnviroSense, Inc. Named to BusinessNH Magazine’s "Best Companies to Work For" List

“Not Just a Business, But a Lifestyle Venture”

Londonderry, NH - January 15, 2006
EnviroSense, Inc. Strategic Environmental Consultants, today announced that BusinessNH Magazine had honored the company as the Number Three “Best Company to Work For” in the Small Company category of their annual survey. A panel of judges made up of Business NH Magazine staff and executives from NH corporations ranked companies in the Granite State based on company culture, benefits, communication, employee development strategies, mission statement, and letters of recommendation from employees.

“Management strives to create a work environment that is safe and healthy. Adhering to a 40-hour work week is encouraged,” said Steven Fecht, Project Environmental Scientist at EnviroSense, Inc. “Employees are treated to weekly Friday breakfasts, monthly cookouts and periodic family gatherings that foster a sense of pride and camaraderie.” Some of the programs that EnviroSense sponsors to support its culture include: employee exercise programs, an Employee Fun Committee, flexible working environment, reimbursing employees for health club memberships, and challenging every employee to enter its “Healthy Consultant” program, in which cash awards are given to every employee for participating at any level.

Eric Wood, President, explains how he started EnviroSense as a “Lifestyle Venture ... Our model is to deliver value propositions for both our employees and our clients that support and perpetuate each other while creating a good balance between our personal and professional lives.” This “Lifestyle Venture” is paying off for EnviroSense, Inc., who can boast an extraordinarily high employee retention rate. “It works for us and for our clients.” Our clients benefit because they can develop associations with professionals that possess outstanding skills and that they know will be at EnviroSense for a long time. Our employees and our clients can really get to know each other’s businesses and develop solid working relationships that are truly mutually beneficial.

“Once employees come here and find out what Lifestyle Venture means to us, and see that we mean what we say, they really enjoy working here and they perpetuate and shape the special environment we have. You can’t be a great company without great employees and this award reaffirms the qualities of the professionals that we are so fortunate to have here” Wood says. “To run the company the way I want and still be profitable is a challenge,” Wood says, “but the goals of achieving a balanced and healthy lifestyle are more important than running it differently for a higher profit.”

BusinessNH Magazine's “Best Companies to Work For” recognizes outstanding achievement by New Hampshire's companies in two categories; Large Company (over 100 Employees) and Small Company (with fewer than 100 employees). EnviroSense, Inc. was the first firm ever in the history of the competition to place in the top 20 in their first year competing. Finishing as one of the top 3 companies may just be an indicator that good things are happening at EnviroSense and that the Lifestyle Venture model is working well.
