Case Study - Operation, Maintenance and Monitoring

Project Overview

Following the completion of Massachusetts Phase I through Phase III Response Actions at an active bulk fuel oil distribution facility, EnviroSense designed, installed, and operated a multi-phase extraction system. The system utilized a combination of remedial technologies to: 1) recover free-phase petroleum product floating on the ground water table; 2) recover, treat, and discharge ground water impacted by dissolved phase petroleum compounds; and 3) treat petroleum-impacted soil via soil vapor extraction (SVE). EnviroSense technicians performed operation, maintenance, and monitoring (OM&M) activities on the system during its operation.

Prior to construction of the multi-phase extraction system, EnviroSense professionals prepared a Phase IV Remedy Implementation Plan (RIP) in accordance with requirements described in the Massachusetts Contingency Plan (MCP). The Phase IV RIP included technical specifications, design plans, and OM&M requirements for the system.
