Case Study - Water Resources
Project Overview
In March of 1999, the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA) and EnviroSense entered into an agreement for EnviroSense to provide environmental consulting services to the MWRA on an as-needed basis. This agreement has resulted in EnviroSense providing services for over 112 MWRA task orders to date at various facilities across the Massachusetts. Our work has resulted in the award of five separate contracts spanning twelve years of continuous service to the MWRA. Representative tasks completed under these contracts include developing design plans and specifications for remediation of contaminated property; assessing contaminated sites; providing emergency response services associated with releases of contaminants to the environment; coordinating the cleaning, closure, and removal of storage tanks; completing site investigation and remediation services; and establishing Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) plans for various facilities per federal regulatory requirements. As an example, EnviroSense developed contract plans and specifications for the excavation and removal of approximately 500 tons of petroleum-contaminated soil. In addition to handling contaminated soil, the design documents addressed the removal and treatment of impacted ground water. EnviroSense also provided bid evaluation services and construction oversight for the remediation phase of this project.
